No matter how you look at it, web traffic is important for your business. Many business owners think you can simply create a website, and you automatically have a web presence, but sadly that isn’t the case.

If you want your business to grow, you need to drive traffic to your website – here’s why.

#1: Your website is the content hub of your business

Your website is more than an online business card, saving you space in an online platform. It’s the content hub for your business. It’s where you drive all of your traffic to and, as such, should have everything on there you need to make working with you easy.

It isn’t enough to just have a website taking up space online. You need it to work hard for your business and bring in leads or sales – and ideally, both.

#2: You want people to get to know you and your business

Web traffic is important for your business if you want it to grow! If your website is set up well and has easy navigation, visitors will want to spend a little time having a look around. They want to get to know you and your business, and you want them to be able to easily see what you are about and what you are offering.

And of course, you want to know what pages are getting traffic so that you can make plans for the future. Traffic will help you ascertain what products, services and pages are most visited, as well as what copy may need tweaking and improving.

#3: Web traffic is important if you want to make more sales

It’s a simple fact – the more eyeballs on your website and offers, the more likely you are to make a sale. Far too many business owners are creating some great free and paid resources but questioning how good or needed they are, simply because they’re not getting the leads and sales they want.

For your website (and business) to do well, you need to have decent content on your site, so you’re giving your audience what they need. But it’s pointless if no one sees that great content. When you improve your traffic, you’re getting more eyeballs on your offers and, ultimately, more sales.

Web traffic is important because it’s a numbers game

It’s not enough to just have a great looking website online. It needs to be working hard for you to help you grow your business and make more sales. As illustrated in point #3 above, the only way to get more sales is to get more traffic.

Because, no matter how you look at it and as I explained in the recent blog post, How much traffic you need to drive to your offer for it to sell, web traffic is a numbers game. If you know your numbers, you can work out which areas of your site are popular and how much web traffic you need, to reach your income goals.

If you’re wondering how much traffic exactly you need, I’ve created a handy Traffic Calculator to give you answers. The Traffic Calculator will tell you exactly how many people you need to send to your site – so opt-in and gain access to the free calculator here.
